Musky Fishing
We run 6 Potomac River trips a year for musky, typically in May-June and
September-October. We also run two trips on reservoirs in April. All trips are
done from either our 16 or 18 foot jetboat/reservoir boat and are designed to accommodate up to two
anglers. As these are big fish, we do not target them from canoes or kayaks.
On the Potomac River, we run close to 100%, in terms of encounters with musky.
This does not mean that we catch musky every trip, because many fish just follow
the lures to the boat or release themselves in the air.
We fish Black Hills
Lake and Piney Run Reservoir for musky, but our success rates are lower on
these lakes. On these lakes we are targeting tiger musky and typically use live
bait.
Throwing big musky plugs all day can be exhausting, so we do have the option to break up the day with some walleye,
smallmouth, or largemouth fishing.
As
previously stated, these musky trips are for anglers who have a level
of patience beyond most. You will learn important information about
locations and tackle for musky, but you might go home without actually
catching one.
All trips are strictly catch and release, but we can arrange reproduction mounts
at a discount rate. All trips are for 1-2 anglers and the cost is $400/trip.
